Project Highlight: From Iconic Nightlife to Community-Driven Care – This Unique Health Facility, Potts Point NSW

In the heart of one of Sydney’s most vibrant and storied precincts, we proudly led one of its most exceptional and talked-about transformations to date. Transforming an iconic Kings Cross nightlife venue into a two-level, state-of-the-art office and medical facility for KRC Health, a NSW Government community project.

This project wasn’t just a refurbishment; it was a full-circle reinvention and re-purpose. What once echoed with the late-night rhythm of Sydney’s party scene has now become a beacon of healing, support, and community outreach.

 

The planning and construction designed the new KRC Health facility includes:

    •    State-of-the-art medical consulting rooms

    •    A light-filled, welcoming reception area

    •    Modernized office spaces for clinical and administrative teams

    •    Secure, confidential meeting rooms and flexible collaboration spaces

    •    Custom-built amenities designed with community needs in mind

The design featured acoustic treatments, custom joinery, and a smart balance of clinical functionality and warm, comforting interiors, reflecting the organization's dedication to care and dignity.

The Challenge: Building in a Living, Breathing Urban Jungle

Working in Kings Cross came with its own unique set of obstacles. The area’s tight laneways and strict parking and delivery restrictions posed major logistical challenges. Access management became a critical component of the job, all delivers, every trade rotation, and every piece of demolition debris had to be managed with precision. This minimised any impacts on surrounding business,vistors and home occupants in the area.

Demolition to Completion:

The site was taken back to its original shell before removing some its colorful past.

With the rebuild, each layer was connected to deliver a modern fit-out that complied with all Regulations and Standards for this modern facility.

We worked hand-in-hand with the architects, stakeholders, and KRC Health’s leadership team to ensure every inch of the space served its intended purpose. This wasn’t just a construction job,it was a collaboration, bringing together architectural vision, Government support and construction excellence.

A modern facility servicing the community with a wide range of needs for not just the short term but into the future.
